My Generation

The day before Veterans Day is a good day to recall the struggles we endured in our youth in order that holidays like Veterans Day not be exploited by the SuperPatriots of today who think it honorable to die for "God & Country" without even a passing thought to what "country" means, who it benefits or what might even be "God's Will" in these times of crony capitalism where the blood of our children is abused to build an oil empire that benefits liars, war mongers, chicken hawks, faux-Christians and their pandering Zealots, super-wealthy corporatists, plutocrats and their financiers on Wall Street.

Indeed, have generations of veterans given their lives so that "our generation" can live under The Patriot Act, an act that attempts in insure an American Police State and the unfettered freedom of corporatists to exploit the world in the name of the Almighty Dollar? Keep your eye on Cheney and his neocons. It ain't over till the fat lady sings.
